The way I understood Meditation

Sorry for being MIA for a while... My shop @ moXieantiques is up and running again ... so shop your hearts out!
The word “meditation” has been on my mind more and more ... and I wanted to share my journey with anyone and everyone that would care to listen... This sharing is not about the sharing of any sophisticated messages ... but just simple everyday efforts at making small discoveries on our journey to learn meditation... just some place to start ... So what is meditation? How does one meditate? Where does one start?
I will be sharing meditation articles ... from kind spirits I have crossed paths with on this journey...
Tomorrow, I will publish the first of a series of articles contributed by Thangka artist Colin Boone to my blog @
moXieantiques
Colin will share his own knowledge of meditation in the Tibetan tradition... Stay tuned!
So, what is meditation to you? Feel free to share yours ... leave a message here...
If you would like to contribute an article to this blog, pls feel free to email
moxie.antiques@gmail.com

We accept articles from all faith traditions. Please remember that this is about sharing and learning ... We encourage and support diversity on this journey.

Where will moXieantiques be headed in 2012?

My pleasure to be back after a whirlwind rollercoaster!

The deal with the house did not go through .... but I learnt many lessons and gained understanding which I otherwise would not... so all is good .... time and forgiveness will heal all and as we head right into 2012.... I wanted to touch base with everyone and just simply connect ....

moXieantiques has been at this for 1 year now and I would like to share with everyone our vision of what is ahead ....

Our vision of moXieantiques continues to be helping one another keep their faith one day at a time, whatever that faith means .... We seek to accomplish this by providing unique vintage and inspiring home decor... We have succeeded in  providing faith inspirations through specializing in european antique religious statues in 2011... We are being known for lovely french madonnas and european religious statues that show love and beauty through their age...

They were a hit and we are amazed at how many statues we have hand picked, sold and shipped to our customers in 2011...

Now what about 2012.. what are our plans? Some of my wonderful customers have asked us to get more word out about our shop on etsy... very kind of them... They think we have fabulous items hidden in a little alley here on moxieantiques.etsy.com .... waiting to be discovered.... We thank them for their encouraging words of hope. Here are our thoughts .... Our business will continue to be online and through word of mouth .... we believe that as long as we can continue to work hard to help you keep faith one day at a time by sourcing wonders for your home and heart, we will continue to be around for you. We reward customer loyalty and appreciate referrals to your friends!

In 2012, we will not only provide antique european statues, but will branch into higher end sculptures ... We will also head on to providing eastern statues and home decor!Think Green Tara, Kwan Yin, Avalokitesvara... as new additions...We would like to provide diverse faith inspirations to you and yours over the years ...

We are also contemplating on providing our services sourcing antiques you love.  We have an extensive network to pull from and would be glad to assist you. Interior Designers or Decorators are welcome to contact us if they see wonders in using our finds in their clients' home..

We also provide help selecting statues or items from our shop, and will objectively propose colors or items that work with your current home decor. We will require pictures in order to assist you.

In 2012, we are also working to become a real estate agent here in The Woodlands, Texas .... Will keep you posted on our progress...
You are right... we are adding more on our plate .... and by accident.... but we have a feeling the dots will all connect ... whether we realize them now or later....

We also have thoughts about other ventures like writing books to share our journey... but one at a time... will keep you posted every step of the way!!!!

thanks for reading and listening... !!!

Hugs

xoxo

Belated Day 10 and Day 11 of a Virgin A Day ....

I sit here pondering on my offering for my belated Day 10 and 11 of a Virgin A Day which I joined here @ Rebecca's blog .... Thank you all for making the faith journey so wonderful, interesting and fun...and for creating communities on cyberspace that help encourage one another to keep faith one day at a time.. whatever that "faith" means for each of us ....

My offering for Day 10 of A Virgin A Day @ 12:10am would be the words of french St Therese on The Blessed Virgin.... Very fitting for Mary's feast day!

None of these wonderful words are mine... All errors, if any, are mine...Enjoy...

How I love the Blessed Virgin! Had I been a priest, oh! how I should have spoken of her. She is represented as unapproachable, rather ought she to be shown as imitable. She is more Mother than Queen. I have heard it said that all Saints are eclipsed by her radiant brightness as the sun at rising makes the stars dissappear. How strange that seems - a mother eclipsing the glory of her children! I think quite the contrary. I believe that she will immensely increase the splendor of the elect... The Virgin Mary! how simple does her life appear to me ... Story of A Soul, Ch. XII

Sometimes I find myself saying to the Holy Virgin: "Do you know, O cherished Mother, that I think myself more fortunate than you? I have you for Mother and you have not, like me, the Blessed Virgin to love ... You are, it is true, the Mother of Jesus, but you have given Him to me, and He, from the Cross gave you to us as our Mother, so we are richer than you. Of old it was your desire that you might be the little handmaiden of the Mother of God; and I, poor little creature, I am, not your servant, but your child: you are the Mother of Jesus and you are my Mother." XIII Letter to her sister Celine

O Mary, if I were Queen of Heaven and thou wert Therese, I fain would be Therese to see thee Queen of Heaven! September 8, 1897, Last words written by Sister Therese of the Child Jesus.

All statues of St Therese are for sale @ moXieantiques  and moXieantiquestoo

Let us relive old faith traditions .... and enjoy the season!!!! Xmas wishes and Infant Jesus of Prague statues to be released soon @ moXieantiques .... !!! Even if you are not Catholic by religion... one cannot help but get fascinated by this wonderful ancient wax doll .... that had such history of devotions by saints and fellowmen.... Everything works its way in wonderful ways and we invite you to keep up and follow us on our Xmas Release .... and just so you know ... it is ok to buy the statue you love first ... and figure it out afterwords!!!! That is how it happened for me!!!

This brings to mind a prayer ... Donna (the lady we partner with to restore this lovely Lourdes statue..do you recall our blogpost.)... had sent me.... of a famous prayer by Saint Anselm ....

"I yearn to understand some measure of thy truth which my heart believes and loves. For I do not seek to understand in order to have faith, but I have faith in order to understand. For I believe this: I shall not understand unless I have faith" by Saint Anselm

What a Concept for a Blog .....

I was just thinking to myself in the shower the other day .... now, if my blog was a highway, i'd like it to be as uncommercialized as possible... no ads, no billboards, just a plain ol' scene of the real unvarnished beauty of what nature has to offer.... i have always loved genuine reminders of faith, actions, people, things and such ... stuff that came from the heart in any form or fashion... and supported them wholeheartedly... i would say this never got me very far in corporate america but that is a whole other story :)....  I have been touched and inspired by many blogs that i have come across... they are all lovely, wise, well put together and there is always something to say that i find so interesting and inspiring...  then u have me with one heck of a vision for a blog that may never take off in this age and time... after all, i do hope to sell so i can continue to do this... right... ? if you have any thoughts to share, i would love to hear it... xoxo...  i will blog more next week....
